The development of automation in design, prototyping, and pattern making at Saudi Cast over the years.

Our engineering abilities in design and pattern making have progressed a great deal in the past 50 years. Over the years, the development of engineering designs has evolved to be on par with the latest technologies to achieve a clear and concise interpretation of the drawings and designs provided by our customers.

Over the past 50 years, Saudi Cast has improved its capability of design and product development.  We have evolved from using simple drawing and drafting techniques to computer-automated design and prototyping.

It all starts with a design:

Today the Saudi Cast technical team uses only top-of-the-line design programs with cutting edge technology to design and develop its products. It ranges from 2D to 3D design software’s and various other CAM software’s.

Simulating before making:

We also use the latest in casting simulation programs. These programs help us to visualise the product before casting it, thus alleviating any risk of rejection or malfunction.

Patterns are forever:

The “pattern” is essentially a replica of the object about to be cast. Thus patterns are the main asset of a foundry. Pattern-making process have changed vastly in the past 50 years. In early ages, patterns were handcrafted using wood. Today, Saudi Cast uses the latest CNC milling equipment to produce its patterns, which are now made of either aluminium, or resin composite. These machines get their programs via Wi Fi from the design and simulation centre.

The future is bright:

Three-dimensional printing is the modern technology for rapid prototyping which allows engineers to quickly create a realistic model of a design using a computer and printing machine.

Our future aim is to start using 3-D printing for rapid prototyping. We are now spending time on learning this revolutionary concept, and hope to start using it for the benefit of our customers very soon indeed.

All these skills achieved in the past 50 years help us to serve our customers better, by providing the best solution for their casting’s needs. We offer design, simulation, and automated pattern making, which is all geared to provide the customer with the most durable casting, and the most optimal cost.

That has always been our aim, and will continue to be our aim during the next 50 years.
