Eco-Friendly Drainage Products: Our floor and roof drain made from recycled plastic
Saudi Cast is well-known in the region for producing quality indoor and outdoor drainage products made from cast iron, ductile iron, stainless steel, nickel bronze, and aluminum. However, taking the environment into consideration, and in-line with its Green Foundry Initiative, Saudi Cast has embarked on a new project to produce floor and roof drains out of recycled plastic, or UPVC (un-plasticized polyvinyl chloride).
Using an existing pressure molding machine, Saudi Cast was able to use recycled UPVC, sourced from the local market, to produce high quality drainage products, which comply with all the standards and specification that these products fall under.
The process involves mixing of the recycled material, with a small amount of virgin UPVC to achieve the recommended chemical and mechanical properties depending upon the use and the area of application.
Compared to their metal counterparts, plastic drains are lighter in weight, can be glued directly to the pipes, and will not develop rust or corrosion.
